Giant started in 1972 with one goal: Create a better cycling experience for people around the world. Giant has never lost sight of their goal. The founders of Giant Bicycles were craftsmen and engineers, and they loved to ride. Working to their strengths, they set out to improve cycling by following three guiding principles: craftsmanship, innovation, and inspiration. Over the past four decades, Giant has become one of the most well- known bicycle brands in the world. Giant Bicycles has won world championships as well as numerous awards online and in- print cycling magazines. Giant Bicycles makes bicycles for everyone in the family, as well as for championship road and mountain bikers, and everyone in between.
Looking for a big-hit bike that you can still pedal up the hill when your favorite bike park is closed? Well look no further than the Giant Reign X1. The Reign X1 comes equipped with 6.7 inches of buttery-smooth Maestro suspension, and a 160mm fork. The rear shock and front fork are both provided by RockShox, a well-known company in the suspension market. The OverDrive 2 headset allows the fork to be stiffer by tapering it from 1.5 inch to 1.25 inches instead of the standard 1.5 inch to 1 1/8 inch.
The Giant Reign X1 is designed to take anything you put in its path. It does this by coming equipped with a drivetrain designed by SRAM, which includes the SRAM X9 Type 2 rear derailleur, X7 shifters, and Avid Elixir 7 Trail disc brakes, which are equipped with a front 200mm rotor and a rear 180mm rotor. The chance of dropping your chain when chattering through gnarly bumps is nearly eliminated when you combine the workings of the SRAM Type 2 rear derailleur and the MRP 2X chain guide on the front crankset. The MRP 2X chain guide allows you to run two chain rings in the front, giving the Reign X1 the ability to climb up steep hills but still have enough gears to pedal through the fastest descents. Combine all this with traction from Schwalbe's Hans Dampf tires, and you have an all mountain/park machine that you can take anywhere and still have a blast.
